Sevastopol part 1

The drive to Sevastopol from Yalta was beautiful. Crimea is very lush and very different than Kiev.

Warning: eye may get struck by lightning.

 "To the soldiers in Afghanistan"

 "Eternal Memory of the Dead"

There is a very Soviet feel here. Hammer and Sickles everywhere and lots of Russian flags. People down here prefer to be referred to as Russians rather than Ukrainians, so we're told.

Kenzie has been talking about wanting to catch a pigeon. We saw this girl actually do it.

ya, there was a nice sea breeze that day... It does wonders for the hair.

Yalta!! :)

Here are some pictures of Yalta, stories will come later.

Bus ride from Simferopol to Yalta

Smiley faces just make everything better :)

This babushka was awesome, too bad I didn't get a picture from the front. (the gold hat one)

 Pretty church near hostel.

 What. The. Heck.

 Yalta Dock

This is for my Mom :)

And this is for my Dad :)

This honestly reminded me of California. Like Monterey, Laguna, and Disneyland all combined.

 Ice Age bounce house? Awesome.

The Native American made it feel even more like CA.

 Lenin himself.

This guy had two dogs begging for money for him.

 Graffiti on a tree? Really?

Kenzie made a friend with a feral dog.

Ok so I'm about 5'101/2'' and this walkway was tops 5'111/2''. Super.

 Kenzie:"What does it say?"
Me:"vtssps?"

We stayed in this apartment thing. This greeted us in the entry. We petted it. That was odd.

Random Things

What would Kenzie and my life be like without the awkward and random moments? Pretty boring I suppose. To start off the list of random things this past week: hot cocoa overflow. Note: never leave hot cocoa in a microwave unattended. Ever.
Playing "bubble gum, bubble gum" with our feet...on the table.
Taking glamour shots outside. No fan needed.
Making scenes with our dinosaur crackers.
Having dinosaur crackers.
 Bright pink cars.
Returning to the Greek restaurant for the amazing food. But somehow this time having it haunt us the next day...
Finally finding Cyrillic alphabet crackers and spelling things with them.
 L'viv
 I love you
Having our roommates walk in and see this:
Well, I don't know how random this is, I just wanted to show you our super cute hostel.
 With super cute sheets.
Back to random: pony grazing in front of the Opera House. Priyatnovo Apetita!
Being laughed at for taking pictures with an umbrella in front of a fountain.
Seeing a huge dog. And thinking about it as a throw rug. (The man's on a step btw)
 Finding a Swiss Hotel.
 And a strange big bug.
Being served a mocha in a margarita glass. Btw, that tomato looking thing is usually served with coffee in Europe. I don't think we have them in the US. It smells like a plum and tastes like a guava. Sooo good. :)
Receiving a wood board as a plate.
Getting a cigarette stuck on the bottom of my shoe.
That's about it for now, but I'm sure more random things will occur. Very soon...
