There's a lot to talk about but let's start with the weather. Remember how it was a beautiful 40º the other day? Well right now it's 14º...not to mention the freezing wind. This is how I had expected Ukraine to be like in the winter. There's ice everywhere! But the sun was shining a little today. :)
Anyways, we've completed 4 weeks of teaching and tomorrow we will have been here a month already. Crazy!
So on Friday Kenz and I met Vika at the gym and she helped get us signed up. Today was our first time actually going though. We did 2 hours of yoga this morning. :) I definitely need to practice... We weren't able to go yesterday because we were downtown most of the day celebrating some of the teachers' birthdays/half birthdays. We went to lunch at TGI Friday's and had a fun time. When we first got there, Kenz and I were trying to find the restroom and this other lady was going there too so she helped us. She was talking to me in Russian and asking us if we were visiting Ukraine. Then a few minutes later, I came out of the bathroom and she and Kenzie were speaking German! So we all talked for a little bit. She's a German teacher here. It was so cool. I was so happy to be speaking German. :D

After lunch we went to St. Sophia's which is more than 1,000 years old. It's not an active church anymore, just a museum. It still has the original mosaics and some really old graffiti (the oldest from the 11th century). We also went up the bell tower which was kind of scary because the wind was intense and the walkway was slippery. But we made it. :)

St. Sophia's - built in the 11th century!
This mosaic is made completely of hand painted easter eggs. Real eggs...15,000 of them. Incredible. (I wasn't supposed to take a picture...shhh)

At least it's not icy... :)
Alright, I have to get going, another week starts tomorrow! I'm gonna try to get some more pictures up soon and maybe a video or two of the kids. :)
No matter where you go, there you are.
