This weekend we had a sleepover at the Center school with the other teachers. We didn't end up watching Taken or any movie, but we just talked and one of the girls taught us how to hula dance. :) We went to bed around 2:30 and then Kenz and I had to get up and meet Vika (the crazy, fun coordinator :P). We were meeting her at the gym because we want to join, it would be something to do instead of being at school and home all the time. It looked like a pretty nice gym. The main perk: stand-up showers!!! haha The squatting's not getting more comfortable...
Anyways, after going to the gym we took a nap and then headed off to downtown. The sun was actually shining that day, for probably the first time since being here. It was wonderful :) So Kenz and I went to the same buffet-restaurant we went to last time and got borscht again. We saw someone dressed up as Scrat from Ice Age. Why? not sure. Afterwards we went to the ballet. We both dressed up this time. We thought we were going to see the Nutcracker but it turned out to be something else. We're not exactly sure though what it was. It seemed to be a compilation of this woman's work, because they brought her out afterwards and were talking about her and giving her a lot of flowers. It was really a nice ballet(s) and the music was beautiful. After the performance a group of children did a Ukrainian dance, they were so little and cute! :) and really good dancers. On Monday not many kids showed up at all, Kenz and I did the first half of the day together. The second half we couldn't do together because one group is Basic Reading and the other is still Kindergarten so the Kindergarten group only had one kid. Haha :P I just played a board game with him. Anyways, today we went to the grocery store again, and it was an epic fail. We wanted to get a juice we hadn't tried yet, because they have really good juice here, so we got apple and carrot juice, but it tastes neither like apple nor carrots. It's pretty bad. And the bread we got was not at all good, not sure how that happened.
Right now we're planning lessons for next week's jungle theme.
Alright I've run out of things to say right now. :) Poka!
